Dr. Merey Hannalla received her Bachelor of Science degree from California State University, Fullerton, and earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from Western University of Health Sciences College of Optometry. During her optometric training, she gained experience in a variety of clinical settings, including collaborative optometry and ophthalmology practices, specialty eye care practices, and the Veterans Affairs healthcare system.
These experiences provided her with a broad clinical foundation in comprehensive eye care and chronic ocular disease management, including glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, and age-related macular degeneration. She also gained experience in specialty contact lens fittings, dry eye disease management, and pre- and post-operative surgical co-management.
Dr. Hannalla is a member of the American Optometric Association, American Academy of Optometry, and California Optometric Association. She believes in providing personalized care through patient education and open communication. She takes the time to listen to her patients, explain treatment options, and ensure they feel comfortable and informed about their eye health.
Outside of optometry, she enjoys traveling, weightlifting, and spending time with family and friends.
