Dr. Debra McIntyre is a skilled and experienced optometrist and has been practicing Optometry since 1998. She is a warm, caring physician with excellent interpersonal skills who enjoys helping her patients manage their vision and eye health care.
Prior to joining California Eye Professionals, Dr. McIntyre worked as an Optometrist in private practice in Florida and California for several years. During this time, she also participated in several humanitarian missions overseas.
Dr. McIntyre obtained her undergraduate degree in Business Management and Pre-Medical courses from California State University, Fullerton. She received her Optometry degree from the Southern California College of Optometry with a Bachelor’s in Visual Science.
Her skill set includes contact lens fitting certification, experience with specialty contacts such as scleral and Rose-K lenses for keratoconus, post penetrating keratoplasty, and other irregular corneal conditions. She has completed glaucoma certification courses. Dr. McIntyre received an award for her research in evaluation of Low Vision devices. In addition, she performs pre and post-op care for refractive and cataract surgery patients. Dr. McIntyre received the George I. Deane, Jr. Award for Outstanding Clinical Care.
In addition to being a practicing Optometrist, Dr. McIntyre serves as a professional member on the California State Board of Optometry.
