Dr. Blase received his medical doctorate from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia. He did medical research at Oxford University and received a Masters of Science Degree from Oxford. Dr. Blase undertook his surgical training at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland and completed his residency in Ophthalmology at the world famous Wilmer Eye Institute at Johns Hopkins Hospital. He is a board-certified Ophthalmologist and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and International College of Surgeons.
Dr. Blase was elected to the Board for Hemet Valley Hospital from 1992 - 2000. During this time, he served as Chairman of the Hospital Board from 1997 - 2000 and was awarded "Physician of the Year" honors by the Hemet Hospital Foundation in 2000.
